Minutes:
Motion to approve agenda: MAC1, WLR2. Unanimous
MaryAnn covetously pointed out that the complimentary neighbor was hers, not Margaret's.
Motion to approve October minutes with that correction: MAC1, WLR2. Unanimous
It was generally felt that these do not present the same risk that floppies used to. Patrons may write to CDROMS and USB drives as they please for the moment.
The staff will initiate, especially if there's been a complaint
Wendy (and all) remembered a discussion of this at a Trustee Meeting of yore. The question is whether the person donating the books must present an itemized list of book titles with their values. It seemed a ridiculous idea to all to ask for such a list if, for example, the contents of an attic or garage are being donated. It seemed easier and adequate to provide a letter saying we'd received the books and let the donor assign a value for their tax purposes.
No one could remember how the matter had been left in the previous discussions. Bill is going to grub through his boxes of musty minutes (which he will donate on his demise with an itemized list of titles and values) and see. [Alas. When he did, he discovered that Patrick'd gotten us to make itemized lists the policy Dec 2005 Minutes]
Discussion of whether to charge Tutors for the use of the space. Tutors do get paid and the Schools promote the library as an acceptable public place to do the tutoring.
It was generally agreed not to charge. It was suggested that they be asked not to camp out in the Young Adult room as that discourages it's use by young adults.
Motion to adjourn (7:38), MAC1, WLR2, passed unanimously
