1. Approval of agenda

Came to order at 7:10pm

2. Secretary's report (June)

Motion to approve June 5 minutes: WLR1, MJ2, 3-0-1 (MaryAnn missed the June meeting so she abstained).

3. Citizens Speak

One alien citizen (a Newton Resident) complimented our staff on how friendly they are.

• Earmark project status

Spent all our money. Could've spent even more on fixing light fixtures. All the work has left the library looking very spiffy and well stocked with materials to boot.

• Margaret is our "Assistant to the Director"

• Friends promotion could affect fines in a small way, and so requires Trustee approval before they can do it - Meena's item
• Allow Medway Friends members to reserve passes even if they not residents.
• Make Friends membership run consistently from Oct - Oct

This is a Friends issue really.

• Friends' issued coupon to be used to for library fines.

This seemed a good idea so:

Motion: The Library will honor fine-waiving coupons issued by the Friends. The amount of a coupon may not exceed $5. MJ1, MAC2, unanimous. (The secretary is even now eagerly awaiting his coupon, anything to avoid those onerous fines)

• Shushing patrons: decorative plaque, signage, policy

After some discussion it was decided to let the staff use their judgment about when a patron is being too noisy.

• Review/consider $25 for-profit meeting room use fee
