LIBRARY CARDS

You may obtain a library card good at all libraries in the Minuteman Library Network by showing identification with your name and current address. Children must be at least five years old. Lost cards may be replaced for $1.00. Please report lost cards immediately.

THE LIBRARY COLLECTION

• For Readers: Fiction, Mystery, SciFi, Paperbacks, Large Print, Biography.
• For Researchers: Literature, Business Reference, Health, Computers & more.
• For Kids: Picture Books, Readers, Stories, Crafts, Animals, Reference books.
• Media: Books on tape and CDs, Videos, DVDs, Music CDs & Cassettes.
• If you don't see it, Request it! We will buy it or borrow it from another library.

LOANS & RENEWALS

• Two week loans: books, magazines, and all sound recordings.
• Seven day loans: Videos DVDs.
• Two renewals for all items, unless previously on-hold.
• Presentation of a card is required to borrow any item. Other forms of I.D. are not acceptable.
• Renewals: in person, telephone, or on-line (a PIN is required).

FINES & CHARGES

• $ .10 a day for all overdue items (except for the following):
• $5.00 a day for each overdue Museum Passes. $10.00 replacement charge for a lost pass.
• $1.00 processing fee will be added to the replacement charge for each lost item.
• $ .10 per page (B/W Computer Printouts).
• $ .10 per page (B/W Photo Copies).

REQUESTS

You may request items that are out or not owned by us. We will email or call you when they come in. Please pick items promptly within 5 days. The MLN Card of the person who requested the item/s must be presented to pick up.

YOUR HOME COMPUTER - LIBRARY CONNECTION.

• You may now browse the Minuteman Catalog On-Line from the Medway Library Homepage, clicking on Catalog. And from Account Info and entering a 4 digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) you can: check your account, renew and order new items. For more information please ask at the main circulation desk. The library's website offers lots of electronic resources for you to explore.
• Let us Email reserve and overdue notices to you. If you read mail daily, give us your Email address to save time and trees.

INFORMATION SERVICES

The Library has a solid foundation of reference books supplemented by a wide array of internet resources. Ask any librarian to assist you with in-depth information needs.

PUBLIC COMPUTER WORKSTATIONS

We offer several public accessible computers that provide:

• Office Applications: Microsoft Word & Excel. (Disks may be purchased at the main desk for $1.00)
• Catalog ONLY terminals that allows item searching, requests and even online fine payment.
• Full-text Periodical articles and Each can point you to our "Useful Internet Resources" directory compiled by Minuteman reference librarians, as well as general internet search tools such as Google and specific databases.
• Reference CD-ROMS or on-line services such as Mass. General Laws.

CHILDREN'S SERVICES

Story hours are conducted in the fall, spring and summer. Film series are regularly run as well. The Summer Reading Program attracts hundreds of kids each year. See the library calendar or check the Library's Website Events for these programs as well as special workshops and events.

MEDWAY LIBRARY OUTREACH

This free program serves homebound Medway residents of retirement or nursing facilities, as well as individual Medway residents of all ages. An Outreach librarian delivers books as well as any normally circulating library items. Monthly or weekly delivery schedules will be arranged for participants. Call the library: 508-533-3217.

MUSEUM PASSES

The library offers several passes to area museums, providing patrons a reduced rate or free admission. Most of the passes are purchased by the Friends of the Library, and are free of charge. You may reserve passes in advance by phone, but you must return them on the day used, unless otherwised instructed. Your MLN library card will be needed to reserve and pick up passes. A "Guide to Museum Passes" is available at the front desk for more information, and on-line from the library homepage: http://medwaylib.org/PassList.htm.

The Minuteman catalog of 42 Metrowest libraries allows you to quickly obtain over one million unique titles on Inter-Library Loan. We can also obtain items nationwide through the Metro-West Regional Library System. Please request this service when you do not find a desired title in our library. Your library card gives you full borrowing privilege at these libraries. Please call to verify library hours and to make sure your book is actually on the shelf.
